Join us for a unique evening of talks and song, organised in partnership with the Italian Institute of Culture, to mark the first ever Irish performance of an opera by Vivaldi, Griselda.

Literary historian Eric Haywood (UCD) will explore the extraordinary success of the Griselda story, from Boccaccio to James Joyce, while musicologist Antonio Cascelli (NUI Maynooth) will discuss Vivaldi’s opera and its context. In addition, extracts from the opera will be performed alongside a panel discussion with members of the cast and creative team providing insights into our new production.

This event is designed to give a deeper context to Vivaldi's Griselda which will enhance the experience of the live performances taking place from 12 - 27 October. However, it is equally of value to those with a more general interest in musical and cultural history.

The event will last for approximately 2 hours with a wine reception following the talks.

Early booking is open to INO Friends and Patrons from 28 August with general booking open from 3 September.
