La traviata schools workshop

Who doesn’t love a good tragedy? Take a dive into Verdi’s beautiful and heart-rending tale of love and loss based on the true story of Marie Duplessis who counted Liszt among her famous admirers.

Irish National Opera is thrilled to unveil an exciting opportunity for schools during the 23/24 season! We're offering a special discounted ticket package bundled with an engaging cross-curriculum workshop. Before students attend the live opera performance, INO will guide them through an enriching workshop that provides valuable context for the piece. Our goal is to enhance their opera experience and make it an educational journey like no other!

This workshop will bring the story of La traviata to life and introduce the students to Verdi’s extraordinary music, including the now very famous Champagne Chorus. Sadly, champagne for teachers cannot be provided.

Who’s it for?: Transition Year
When is the workshop?: Week of 13th May
Where is the workshop?: Your school!
What is the performance time, date & location?: Wednesday 22nd May, 7:30pm; Gaiety Theatre

Further information

School tickets to the opera cost €10 throughout the season, and include a complimentary workshop. Schools must also account for the cost of staff tickets at €10 each and school staff must be present at a minimum ratio of 1:10 students.

Tickets to each performance and workshops are limited so we are operating on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up now to avoid disappointment!
