In a year of challenges and upheaval, Irish National Opera’s 20 Shots of Opera turns a spotlight on creativity and makes 2020 a year to remember for positive reasons. Conceived, composed, recorded and filmed in just six months, these 20 short operas showcase the breadth and depth of Irish operatic talent.

SERAGLIO THE MINI SERIES
A new mini-series created under lockdown based on the opera The Abduction from the Seraglio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Directed by Caitríona McLaughlin, featuring a cast headed by soprano Claudia Boyle with Peter Whelan conducting the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
THE BARBER OF SEVILLE
A Wide Open Opera production, recorded at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in 2016. Starring internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught.
