In Tralee at Siamsa Tíre, instrumental ensembles from Music Generation Kerry will combine to perform a bespoke arrangement of the opening Sinfonia in L’Olimpiade.

In Cork at The Everyman, the Inclusive Music Ensemble (an inclusive music group for artistic and creative expression that works principally with adults with intellectual and physical disabilities) are creating a composition for film, which will be presented in the theatre’s foyer. Participants met with mezzo-soprano Gemma Ní Bhriain in January, who introduced the work to them and performed sections of the piece.

In Waterford at Theatre Royal, South Eastern Technological University Irish Traditional Music Orchestra will perform fragments of L’Olimpiade seamlessly melded with pieces composed by the Irish harper and composer, Turlough Carolan, a contemporary of Vivaldi’s. In preparation for the event, the conductor, Karen Ní Bhroin, led sessions with the ensemble, in addition to working with students on the music department’s conducting module.

In Limerick at Lime Tree Theatre, local youth string ensemble, Ceol na Mara will perform arias from other Vivaldi opera, sung by tenor Dean Power, conducted by James Bingham.

In Letterkenny at An Grianán, participants from HSE’s Mental Health Service, Create-a-link, are producing paintings inspired by the story of L’Olimpiade, to be present in the theatre’s gallery space.

In Navan at Solstice Arts Centre, a screening of a performance by Julianstown Youth Orchestra of a bespoke arrangement of the opening Sinfonia in L’Olimpiade will be shown.
