Get the inside track on Bizet's Carmen with Irish National Opera.
Join us for Carmen … In Focus, an introduction into one of the most famous and recognisable operas of all time, delivered by French opera academic, Professor Clair Rowden from the University of Cardiff. The talk will also include a roundtable discussion between INO’s artistic director Fergus Sheil and Carmen director Paul Curran, conductor Kenneth Montgomery and mezzo-soprano Paula Murrihy who will be performing the title role. The team will discuss the creative process in bringing a production like this to life.
This event is designed to give a deeper understanding of Bizet's Carmen and will enhance the experience of the live performances taking place 7-12 March 2022 at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin. It is equally of interest to those who would like to learn more about Bizet and French opera. It is suitable for opera enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
The event will last for approximately 1 hour and will be available to access online.
