Paint The Flying Dutchman – Sunday 9 March, IMMA (Fully Booked – Waiting List Available)

Paint the Flying Dutchman

In collaboration with the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), INO presents a unique artistic experience where participants will paint their response to The Flying Dutchman while immersed in the opera’s powerful score. Guided by Irish mezzo-soprano Carolyn Dobbin, who sings the role of Mary in the upcoming production, attendees will hear insights into the opera’s themes before creating their own visual interpretations.

With limited spaces available for artists working in different formats, the event will culminate in a judged exhibition, with prizes including opera tickets, hotel stays, and IMMA memberships. A drop-in option is also available for those who prefer a shorter, more informal sketching session.
