Play The Flying Dutchman

Irish National Opera is inviting amateur musicians to participate in an orchestral workshop with INO’s Artistic Director, Fergus Sheil, taking place in the beautiful RDS Concert Hall in south Dublin on Sunday 9th March 2025.

We welcome players who are comfortable playing in non-professional orchestras and ensembles who will get the chance to play this spectacular overture to Wagner’s first major operatic work, The Flying Dutchman.

It’s a great opportunity to meet and play alongside musicians from other ensembles and to gain a greater understanding around what it takes for a company like INO to produce a Wagner opera. The workshop is taking place ahead of INO's performances of The Flying Dutchman at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in late March.

Participation in the workshop is free of charge. Spaces are limited and therefore subject to a successful application. To apply to take part, please fill in this form no later than 1st February and we’ll get in touch letting you know either way if you’ve been successful in gaining a place. You must be 18 years of age or older to take part.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact info@irishnationalopera.ie.

The workshop is kindly supported by RDS Foundation.
