Are you curious about what happens behind the scenes of a professional opera company? Irish National Opera offers students a unique opportunity to discover how world-class opera is created and produced for audiences all over the world.

Peek behind the scenes and experience the hustle and bustle of a live rehearsal room! Our TY work experience students get the chance to observe how directors and conductors interact with performers to create the magic you see on stage. We offer the chance to chat to professional musicians and singers about their careers and find out how they got from the Leaving Cert to the main stage.
Our placements are designed for students who are curious about the work we do and eager to learn. No previous knowledge of opera is required, just an interest in the arts, creativity and teamwork. We welcome applications from students who are keen to explore the performing arts and discover the many opportunities that exist both on and off the stage.
Please note we cannot guarantee a placement for everyone as they vary depending on the company's production schedule and the availability of staff.
