Siamsa Tíre, Tralee | Saturday 31 January

Design students at MTU have created an illustrated version of The Cunning Little Vixen. They were given a distilled explanation of each scene, highlighting each character and setting and the students were tasked to create an illustration for each scene. The designs have been collated into a book and will be given to each audience member.

The Everyman, Cork | Thursday 5 February

In partnership with Cork Choral Festival, the Everyman put out a call for schools to audition for the Open Foyer performance. Local school choirs submitted an audition video and Ashton School were successful. They worked with Cork conductor Elaine Kelly in a half-day workshop on the Cub’s Chorus from the opera and will perform this, as well as other songs in their repertoire.

Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick | Saturday 7 February

Cantette and Ceol na Mara will be back again to perform. Composer Eoin Conway arranged the Cub’s Chorus for Ceol na Mara’s string orchestra and they will perform this with Cantette alongside their own repertoire for the evening.

Town Hall Theatre, Galway | Tuesday 10 February

Once again, INO has partnered with That’s Life, an award-winning arts and personal development programme of the Brothers of Charity Services, Galway. Mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty worked with them in a half-day workshop, introducing the themes and motifs of the opera to them. The musicians in the group then went away and composed their own response to the opera and will perform this as well as other songs in a Gamelan ensemble.

Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo | Thursday 12 February

Sligo Orpheus Choir is an amateur choir of over 50 singers that aims to promote an appreciation and enjoyment of choral music within the community of County Sligo and beyond. Celebrating 50 years since they were first formed, SOC, conducted by Musical Director Ciara Murphy, will be performing a short programme of traditional and Irish folk songs from their repertoire.

An Grianán, Letterkenny | Saturday 14 February

Local artist Paul Murray will lead a group of artists and poets in a live, real-time artistic exhibition. 5/6 poets and writers from diverse backgrounds to have been developing new work for the last few months, and will perform these pieces on the evening.

Along side this there will be a live life/subjective drawing session. This will be interactive with the public as they come in (for those who wish to take part) and develop over the hour before the performance from the themes of the Cunning Little Vixen and the poets performing.

The Solstice Theatre, Navan | Tuesday 17 February
