Sing Rusalka
Join Irish National Opera’s Artistic Director, Fergus Sheil for an afternoon singing Dvořák’s Rusalka in partnership with RDS Dublin on Sunday 8th March.
In conjunction with our forthcoming production of Rusalka, INO invites you to an afternoon of singing and exploration of this darkly poetic opera that shares similarities to Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid.
Led by conductor Fergus Sheil, this workshop will explore operatic singing techniques in a relaxed environment and it will bring to life the joyous ceremony of the Wedding Chorus, from one of the central moments in the opera. You'll also have the rare opportunity to sing alongside professional opera singers from the INO Chorus, experiencing firsthand what it’s like to be part of an operatic ensemble. The workshop is taking place ahead of INO's performances of Rusalka at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in late March.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. To apply to take part, please fill in this form by Friday 20 February. Confirmation of a place in the workshop and music scores will be sent in due course. Singers of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome – all you need is enthusiasm and a love of music!
- When: Sunday 8 March, 11:30-14:00
- Where: RDS Concert Hall
If you have any questions, feel free to contact info@irishnationalopera.ie.
The workshop is presented in partnership with the RDS.
