Designing Isolde
Where art and technology meet. A discussion exploring the design process of Isolde, a ground-breaking new platform that facilitates synchronised audio-visual experiences for artistic productions.
Join us as we showcase The Scorched Earth Trilogy, the creative work that inspired the development of Isolde. We’ll take a deep dive into the design process involved in developing the Isolde platform, from concept stage to audience facing Beta tests. The conversation will provide insights into the different perspectives involved in this unique project as we hear from the people involved at each stage of its development.
The discussion will be around 30 minutes long including time for a Q&A with our speakers.
Following the discussion, you will have the opportunity to experience Isolde in action with The Scorched Earth Trilogy, a trio of short operas created by Brian Irvine and John McIlduff, co-produced by Irish National Opera and Dumbworld. These innovative, thought-provoking operas will be projected at the Gallery 2, Mart Gallery, 109A Rathmines Road at 6.40pm and 7.30pm. You will need your mobile phone, headphones and the Isolde mobile app to access the audio for this experience. You can learn more about Isolde here.
This event is presented with the support of Irish Design Week.

Isolde has been developed by Nuwa Studios, for Irish National Opera in consultation with Dumbworld, with the support of the Next Stage Initiative from Fedora and Opera Europa. INO is funded by the Arts Council.
