An Evening of Wagnerian Insight & Music
Irish National Opera is preparing to stage its first-ever Wagner opera The Flying Dutchman at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in March 2025. To celebrate the occasion, we’re hosting a special Wagner event on Wednesday 26th March at The Dean Hotel in Dublin.
This one-night-only event has been specially designed for Wagner lovers and will feature:
- "Wagner: Two Perspectives, One Composer" – A fascinating conversation between conductor Fergus Sheil and academic Áine Sheil, exploring Wagner from both an artistic and scholarly viewpoint.
- Live Performances – Including Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder performed by soprano Amy Ní Fhearraigh, plus a special performance from acclaimed tenor Toby Spence.
- Behind-the-Scenes Insights – Director Rachael Hewer will share an exclusive look at the vision behind The Flying Dutchman.
- A Reception with Fellow Wagner Enthusiasts – Enjoy an evening of conversation, music, food, and drinks with fellow opera lovers, as well as members of the production team.
