We are deeply saddened to share news of the passing of Timothy King, a beloved founding Member of Irish National Opera, marking a profound loss for our community.

Timothy, along with his wife Mary Canning, has been a staunch supporter of INO. His passion for opera left an indelible mark, most notably in his support for the commissioning of new works, such as Gerald Barry’s Mrs Streicher from our 2021 digital series, 20 Shots of Opera. His legacy will continue to resonate with a new commission slated for an upcoming season.

A worldly man, Timothy’s charming, kind, and affable presence will be greatly missed by all of us. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mary during this challenging time.
