Répétiteur scholarship

Irish National Opera is delighted to announce the launch of a new répétiteur scholarship in partnership with TU Dublin.

Over the course of the academic year, this year’s scholarship recipient, Adam McDonagh, joins the INO Studio, taking part in a programme of intensive training whilst working across a number of INO productions this season. Studio and Outreach producer James Bingham says: “I’m delighted that Adam will be working with us this year. The INO Studio is focussed on investing in operatic talent for the future. Being able to combine the excellent teaching that takes place at TU Dublin with the professional experience gained through INO’s production work makes this scholarship an incredible opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career as a repetiteur”.

Head of Vocal, Opera and Drama Studies, Rachel Talbot adds: “The conservatoire is delighted that this joint initiative with INO has attracted such a talented student. We are enthusiastic about sharing the expertise of our staff with him and we look forward to the contribution he will make to the performing lives of his peers and to practice-based research”.

This year’s scholarship recipient, Adam McDonagh says: "I am very grateful for this exciting opportunity to be part of the INO Studio while simultaneously pursuing a MMus programme in répétiteuring at TU Dublin Conservatoire. I really appreciate both the mentoring provided throughout the year as a member of the INO Studio and the invaluable insight and experience I am gaining from INO's full-scale productions."

INO hopes to continue this scholarship programme into the future and is looking forward to working closely with TU Dublin to discover Ireland’s next generation of répétiteurs.
