A rich, radiant voice, expansive range and dynamic stage presence are Irish-born mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught’s hallmarks. Her extensive repertoire includes, Mozart, Rossini, Strauss, Bellini, Dvorak, Gounod and Händel as well as contemporary composers.
Ms. Erraught has appeared in recitals and concerts throughout the United States, Canada, Denmark, France, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Among the distinguished organizations and venues at which she has appeared are The Metropolitan Opera, Gran Teatre Del Liceu, Theater an der Wein, Berlin Staatsoper, Weiner Staatsoper, Glyndebourne Opera Festival, Ireland’s Irish National Opera, Wide Open Opera, the Salzburg Festival, Wigmore Hall and at the BBC Proms. Upcoming engagements this 2020/21 include Despina in Cosi fan tutte and Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel for Bayerische Staatsoper, Mozart concerts with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, and Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia for Oper Köln. Recitals and concerts will lead her to Munich, Dublin and the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg.
A native of Dundalk, Ireland, Tara Erraught is a graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, where she studied, and continues to study, with the acclaimed Royal Opera soprano Veronica Dunne. A resident principal soloist with the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich from 2010 – 2018, she also works frequently with famed German mezzo-soprano Brigitte Fassbaender, expanding her Lied and Opera repertoire.
