Biography

Sinéad Campbell Wallace has performed with Irish National Opera in Andrew Hamilton’s erth upon erth (in 20 Shots of Opera), as Leonore in Beethoven’s Fidelio, and in the title roles of Puccini’s Tosca and Richard Strauss’s Salome. She made her Salzburg Festival debut in 2020 as Fourth Maid in Strauss’s Elektra, and was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2023 for her portrayal of Tosca at English National Opera. Other recent highlights include performing Senta in Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer at the Hyogo Performing Arts Centre, Japan; Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin at Opéra national de Paris and at the Savonlinna Opera Festival; and Leonore in Fidelio at Washington National Opera and (with Jonas Kaufmann) at Grafenegg Festival. In the 2025/26 season, she appears as Madame Lidoine in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites at Semperoper Dresden. Sinéad is a graduate of TU Dublin Conservatoire, National Opera Studio London, and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme.
