American tenor Ryan made his debut with Irish National Opera in September 2025 alongside Sinéad Campbell Wallace and Yngve Søberg in Viva Verdi Viva Wagner at the National Concert Hall. This season he also appears at Seattle Opera singing Don José in Bizet’s Carmen, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago for Narraboth in Richard Strauss’s Salome. In the 2024-2025 season, Ryan debuted the Prince in Dvořák’s Rusalka at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, debuted with Metropolitan Opera New York as The Voice of a Young Man in Richard Strauss’s Die Frau ohne Schatten, and made his Scottish Opera debut singing Albert Gregor in Janáček’s The Makropulos Affair, appearing alongside Irish soprano Orla Boylan. Future appearances include a return to the Metropolitan Opera, Dutch National Opera, Theater Basel, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Santa Fe Opera and Garsington Festival. A former member of the Ryan Opera Center for emerging artists at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ryan is also a graduate of the Yale School of Music and Purchase College Conservatory of Music in New York.
