Biography

American tenor Ryan Capozzo will make his production debut with Irish National Opera in 2026 when he sings the Prince in Dvořák’s Rusalka. In the coming 2025-2026 season, Ryan also makes his debut at Seattle Opera singing Don José in Bizet’s Carmen, as well as returning to the Lyric Opera of Chicago for Narraboth in Richard Strauss’s Salome. In the 2024-2025 season, Ryan debuted the Prince in Dvořák’s Rusalka at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, debuted with Metropolitan Opera New York as The Voice of a Young Man in Richard Strauss’s Die Frau ohne Schatten, and made his Scottish Opera debut singing Albert Gregor in Janáček’s The Makropulos Affair, appearing alongside Irish soprano Orla Boylan. A former member of the Ryan Opera Center for emerging artists at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ryan is also a graduate of the Yale School of Music and Purchase College Conservatory of Music in New York.
