Actor Ronan Leahy’s recent theatre work includes Jimmy Jack in Translations, directed by Catriona McLaughlin for the Abbey; Ray in Blackbird by David Harrower, directed by Ben Barnes for Four Rivers; Polymester in Hecuba by Marina Carr, directed by Lynne Parker, and Toby in The Effect by Lucy Prebble, directed by Ronan Phelan, both for Rough Magic; Le Corbusier/Badovici in Invitation to a Journey, a collaboration between Fishamble, CoisCéim and Crash Ensemble for Galway International Arts Festival; various roles for Fishamble in Tiny Plays for Ireland and America in Washington and New York; Eamonn Ceannt in Waged, written by Frank McGuinness as part of Signatories, directed by Patrick Mason; Patrick Pearse in Inside the GPO by Colin Murphy, directed by Jim Culleton; Gustav in Creditors by August Strindberg, directed by Aoife Spillane-Hinks; The Stranger in Oedipus adapted and directed by Wayne Jordan for the Abbey; Hindley in Wuthering Heights at the Gate directed by Michael Barker-Caven; Mr Whitbread in Brendan Behan’s Borstal Boy at the Gaiety directed by Conal Morrison; and Billy Wicklow in Drumbelly by Richard Dormer at the Abbey, directed by Sean Holmes. He made his Irish National Opera debut in Least Like The Other at Galway International Arts Festival in 2019.
