Biography

Pia Lux studied classical philology and German language and literature and worked as a teacher for many years until 2005, when she became a lecturer in German and later a language coach for the Zurich Opera House.

Pia Lux supervised numerous productions in the German opera repertoire: she was responsible for concise, comprehensible, meaningful and singable pronunciation at the opera houses in: Zurich, Lucerne, Bordeaux and Basel, where she completed Wagner's RING in 2024

She is currently working as a language coach for Wagner's The Flying Dutchman in Dublin. She also works online for the MELBA programme in Melbourne and for the ADLER programme at San Francisco Opera. She is in demand by numerous soloists for the development of new roles in the Wagner, Strauss, Beethoven and Mozart repertoire. The German Lied repertoire is particularly important to her.
