British baritone Paul Grant made his first appearance with Irish National Opera in Berlioz’s Beatrice & Benedict. He is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music (London), and went on to become the second British singer to join the prestigious Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Roles performed at La Scala include Grégorio in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Ein Kappadozier in Richard Strauss’s Salome, Wigmaker in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos and Dandini for children’s performances of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Sebastian in Adès’s The Tempest, Conte in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and the title role in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Recent performance highlights include celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Georg Solti Accademia at the Hungarian State Opera, a recital for Teatro La Fenice as well as appearances at the Edinburgh International Festival, Princess of Asturias Foundation, Bolzano Festival, Lausitz Festival, Lerici Festival, Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa, Dubai Opera, ROH Muscat and debuts with Scottish Opera, Irish National Opera and Opera Holland Park.
