Biography

Oryna Veselovska is a London-based Ukrainian mezzo-soprano with a versatile repertoire range, who is particularly passionate about being true to her expressivity. This is her first appearance with Irish National Opera. She completed her degree in opera singing at the Ukrainian National Academy of Music, and recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (London) with a Master of Arts degree with Distinction. Studying at the Academy with Kate Paterson and Jonathan Papp, she worked with conductors Christopher White and Peter Robinson and directors David Antrobus, Eleanor Burke and Victoria Newlyn on roles including Charlotte in Massenet’s Werther, Lucretia in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia, Third Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Sesto in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. In April 2024, Oryna sang alto solo in Handel’s Messiah with Sudbury Choral Society, conducted by John Chillingworth, her singing being reviewed by Seen and Heard International as “the evening’s most moving performance”. In July 2025, Oryna took part in the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute’s intensive training program in Montreal, Canada.
