Niamh St John
Biography
Galweigan Soprano Niamh St John has been a member of the Irish National Opera Company Chorus since 2022, and this year joins the studio for the INO 2026/27 season. During this season Niamh will cover the roles of Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen and Liù in Puccini's Turandot. Since completing her MMus in TU Dublin Conservatoire in 2023 Niamh has also performed the roles of Milliner in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier and the Rooster in Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen with Irish National Opera. Niamh has also appeared with the choruses of NI Opera and Blackwater Valley Opera Festival.
An enthusiastic recitalist, Niamh has performed at Boyne Arts Festival, Boyle Arts Festival, as soloist at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and the Emily Anderson Concert Hall, Galway and will perform Hansel's Messiah in St Patrick's Cathedral this December. Most recently Niamh collaborated with Once Off Productions on a national tour in September 2026 working with John Mcllduff and Gina Moxley. Niamh was also supported by the 2024 Galway Artist Scheme of Galway County Council and was awarded Canto Al Serchio Prize at the 2022 Birr Festival of Music.
