Megan O'Neill
The Bartered Bride, The Cunning Little VixenBiography
Megan O’Neill is a soprano from County Kerry. She is a member of the Irish National Opera Company Chorus and an alumna of the INO Studio (2023-24). She played the role of Teen Polar Bear in The Scorched Earth Trilogy, a street-art opera by Brian Irvine and John McIlduff (INO/Dumbworld), and most recently sang Esmeralda in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride and Ida in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus. She recently graduated as Doctor in Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Her experience at RIAM included performing the lead role of Jane in Kevin O’Connell’s film-opera DreamCatchr, which premiered at Dublin International Film Festival 2024. Megan made her National Opera House debut in the title role of Alma Deutscher’s Cinderella at Wexford Festival Opera in 2022. Competition successes include the Gervase Elwes Memorial Cup at Feis Ceoil 2022, the 2022 RDS Music Bursary and the 2023 RDS Collins Memorial Award.
