Matt is London-based and works internationally. He designed the lighting for the Royal Opera House’s world premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Coraline; worked as associate lighting designer for The Master and Margarita (Complicité) and concert lighting designer for iconic Grace Jones (Royal Albert Hall). Opera work includes Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Irish National Opera); Michael Zev Gordon’s Raising Icarus (Barber Opera); Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snowmaiden, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Verdi’s La traviata, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Britten’s The Turn of the Screw and Errollyn Wallen’s Cautionary Tales (all Opera North); Elspeth Brooke’s The Commission, Francisco Coll’s Café Kafka, Søren Nils Eichberg's Glare and Matt Rogers’s The Virtues of Things (all Royal Opera House); Bernstein’s A Quiet Place (Opera Zuid); Herrmann’s Wuthering Heights (Opéra national de Lorraine); Ravi Shankar’s Sukanya (Royal Festival Hall); Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux (all Welsh National Opera); Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer (Estonian National Opera); La Cenerentola (Mälmo Opera/Teatrio Regio Turin); Britten’s Albert Herring (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino), and Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love (Waterperry Opera).
