Biography

Pianist and vocal coach Marine Thoreau La Salle trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris receiving the prestigious premier prix on two occasions.

For the last 20 years, Marine has worked with numerous opera companies including the Théâtre du Châtelet and Opéra-Comique (Paris), Festival International d’Art lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence and Opéra de Dijon (France), Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opéra de Lausanne and Nouvel Opéra Fribourg (Switzerland) and Edinburgh International Festival (Scotland). Marine has collaborated with great conductors such as Maestro Louis Langrée, Sir Mark Elder, Raphaël Pichon, Stefan Soltetz, Paul Mc Creesh and Leo Hussain as well as numerous stage directors and soloists.

As a privileged partner of singers, she also pursues regular engagements with Lieder and songs recitals. Marine is a regular contributor with the Opéra-Comique (Paris) and of the Palazzetto Bru Zane (Venice). Marine has also recorded two singing recitals (“Confluences”  Klarthe 2017 and “Soir, Berceuses mais pas que” Muso 2019).

Keen to pass on her knowledge, she is regularly invited to festivals, academies and masterclasses. She held the position of vocal coach at the Haute École de Musique de Genève. As a French repertoire specialist for which she has a particular love, she has since 2011 a particularly close collaboration with the Opéra-Comique in Paris and is now Head of Musical Studies and vocal coach with the singers of the Académie Favart.
