Maree is an established set and costume designer whose two-decade career spans theatre, dance, opera, and musicals, working with many of Ireland’s leading companies and directors. This is her first production with Irish National Opera. She has created richly imagined worlds for stages across Ireland and internationally, as well as for site-specific, immersive, and outdoor productions. Her upcoming work includes The Crucible (Gaiety Theatre) and The Whiteheaded Boy at the Abbey Theatre. Recent productions include Denouement at the Lyric Theatre, Little Shop of Horrors at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre; Our New Girl at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast; The Black Wolfe Tone (Irish Repertory Theatre New York/Fishamble); Palimpsest by David Bolger for CoisCéim Dance Theatre; Hammam with ANU Productions and the Abbey Theatre; and the world premiere of Somewhere Out There You by Nancy Harris at the Abbey. Other notable credits include Sive at the Gaiety; Jonathan Dove’s Flight for Opera Collective Ireland; costume design for the acclaimed Staging the Treaty with ANU; The Blackwater Lightship for the Dublin Theatre Festival at the Gaiety; and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice for Blackwater Valley Opera Festival. Maree is the Course Director for the MFA in Stage Design at the Lir Academy, Trinity College, Dublin.
