Biography

Madeleine studied Theatre Design at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. This is her first production with Irish National Opera. Her recent design work includes: David LaChapelle x Christian Louboutin – the SS26 Louboutin collection (live show and filmed commercial); Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Opera North; Dublin Gothic, Abbey Theatre; The Seagull, Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh; G, Royal Court Theatre, London; Lerner and Lowe’s My Fair Lady, Leeds Playhouse; Donizetti’s Le convenienze ed inconvenienze Teatrali (2024) and David’s Lalla-Roukh (2022), Wexford Festival Opera, (winner of best costume the Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards 2022); Weill’s Lady in the Dark (2022), and Bernstein’s A Quiet Place (2018), Opera Zuid, Maastricht (both productions won Place de L’Opera Awards for Best Opera), Thomas Adès’s Powder Her Face, Det Kongelige Teater, Copenhagen (winner of AretsReumert Prize for Best Opera Production 2016); The Donizetti Trilogy: Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux, Welsh National Opera. Future projects include Dvořák’s Rusalka for Malmö Opera, and Valtinoni’s Der Kleine Prinz for Theater an der Wien, Vienna.
