Biography

From Cahir, Jennifer Davis has come to international attention following a series of sensational role debuts, earning critical praise. For Irish National Opera, she has appeared as Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, and most recently performed in the recital ‘Rebels and Heroines’, alongside Sarah Richmond and pianist Aoife O’Sullivan. The 2025/26 season sees Davis make house and role debuts as Elisabeth in Wagner’s Tannhäuser for Grand Théâtre de Genève and Marie in Berg’s Wozzeck at the New National Theatre Tokyo. Recent concert highlights include Mozart’s Requiem with the Athens Philharmonic, as well as performances with National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, including Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem and a New Year’s gala concert led by Gavin Maloney. Last season Jennifer made her debut as the title role in Richard Strauss’s Arabella and appeared as Elsa von Brabant in Wagner’s Lohengrin at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She also made her house debut as Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Hamburgische Staatsoper and returned to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in the role of Leonore in Beethoven’s Fidelio. Her appearances at Wexford Festival Opera include the title role in Dvořák’s Armida, Adina in Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore, and Agata in Antonio Cagnoni’s Don Bucefalo. In future seasons, Davis makes her house debut at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, and returns to Deutsche Oper Berlin
