Biography

Irish soprano Ava Dodd is a Harewood Artist at English National Opera, and and an Associate Artist for The Mozartists.

Ava’s performances in the 2025/26 season include Micaela Carmen with the English National Opera, Second Niece Peter Grimes in her first appearance with Opera North, and a role and house debut as Susanna Le nozze di Figaro with Scottish Opera. She makes her BBC Proms debut as Aksinya/Female Convict in Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra/John Storgårds, and performs in concerts with The Mozartists/Ian Page and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.

Previous engagements have included Madeleine, Madame de Latour Le Postillon de Lonjumeau and High Priestess Aida for Oper Frankfurt; Lauretta Gianni Schicchi for the Heidenheim Opera Festival; Lola Cavalleria rusticana and Anne Trulove The Rake's Progress for the Verbier Festival; Tilburina The Critic at the Wexford Festival; Sonia L’Aube rouge and Fenimore Der Silbersee for the Opéra national de Lorraine and Adina The Elixir of Love, Rosina The Barber of Seville, Barbarina The Marriage of Figaro and Second Niece Peter Grimes at the English National Opera.

Ava was a recipient of the 2023 Yves Paternot Prize from the Verbier Festival Academy.
