Biography

Aebh is a 23-year-old mezzo-soprano from Dublin and is a 2020-21 member of INO’s ABL Aviation Opera Studio. She has a first class honours BA in Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and in 2021 continued her studies on the academy’s Professional Mentorship Programme with Virginia Kerr and Dearbhla Collins. In May she covered the roles of The Red Queen/The Queen of Hearts/The Duchess/The Mock Turtle,/Passenger 1/Oyster 1 in INO’s film of Gerald Barry’s Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, and in September she moves to Florence where she will be a member of the Mascarade Opera Studio for the 2021-22 season. In 2019 she competed in the final round of the International Singing Competition Neue Stimmen in Gütersloh, Germany, and took part in the Neue Stimmen Masterclass last autumn, when her coaches included mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink and casting director Evamaria Wieser. She is a multiple ESB Feis Ceoil cup winner, and in March 2020 she won the Maura Dowdall Concerto Competition at the RIAM and was due to make her debut with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in July 2020 at the National Concert Hall. Before that she participated in Tara Erraught’s Celebration of the Voice in Drogheda where she performed with the INO Orchestra under Fergus Sheil. RIAM productions she has appeared in include Francesca Caccini’s La liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina, and Cavalli’s La Calisto.
