  • Venue: The Marshall Room, The Dean Hotel, Dublin

  • A captivating discussion entitled ‘Wagner: Two Perspectives, One Composer’ between conductor and INO Artistic Director, Fergus Sheil, and Wagner academic, Áine Sheil.
  • A stunning performance of Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder by acclaimed soprano Amy Ní Fhearraigh.
  • A behind-the-scenes discussion with director Rachael Hewer, offering insights into INO’s production of The Flying Dutchman.
  • A special performance by celebrated tenor Toby Spence.
  • A reception where you can mingle with fellow Wagner enthusiasts and members of the Flying Dutchman production.

Package Price:
€150 (includes an opera ticket for either the 25th or 27th March performance of The Flying Dutchman and entry to the exclusive event on 26th March).

About the Production:
Irish National Opera proudly presents The Flying Dutchman, marking our debut into the world of Wagner. This production is directed by Rachel Hewer and conducted by Fergus Sheil, bringing to life the haunting and dramatic tale of redemption and eternal love. The stellar cast includes:

  • Giselle Allen as Santa
  • Alfred Walker as the Cursed Dutchman
  • James Creswell as Daland
  • Toby Spence as Eric
  • Carolyn Dobbin as Mary
  • Gavan Ring as Daland's Steersman

The production will be directed by Rachael Hewer, with set and costume design by Francis O'Connor. This production, in terms of scale and ambition, will be a landmark moment for Irish National Opera, who has gained an international reputation for excellence in recent years.
