Knowing the Score - Part 2
Knowing the Score: A free online training course in score reading
Irish National Opera is delighted to announce the second edition of ‘Knowing the Score’, a free professional development programme for stage managers and other interested theatre professionals working with live music performance.
Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will attend a series of online workshops that focus on the skills required to understand the basics of scored music as it is used in a theatrical context. The course will focus exclusively on operatic repertoire but will be of benefit to anyone interested in working in dance, musical theatre or any other live art form that works with notated music. The course is open to stage managers, designers, directors and technicians based in Ireland who either currently have a career in theatre or are in the early stages of their career. No experience of reading music is required.
To apply, participants must submit a either CV or a letter of interest detailing their recent work, as well as their current home address, no later than 17th December to firstname.lastname@example.org. The course has limited places. We will let participants know if they’ve been successful in receiving a place no later than 23rd December.
