We regret to announce that, following the Government’s latest coronavirus advice, issued on Tuesday 24 March, we have cancelled all Irish National Opera performances of Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio.

Irish National Opera’s Artistic Director Fergus Sheil said “The health and safety of the general public and everyone who works with us is our number one concern in these unprecedented times. We are currently looking into the possibility of presenting concert performances of the opera when regulations permit. Everyone involved is looking forward to the opportunity of reconnecting with our audiences as soon as possible. We are most grateful to the co-operation of the Irish Chamber Orchestra in this regard.”

Executive Director Diego Fasciati adds “We would like to thank all our artists, technical personnel, stakeholders, supporters and funders for their stalwart support and patient understanding during this difficult period.”

Ticket holders for the performance in the National Opera House Wexford will be contacted by the box office. For any queries please email

Gaiety Theatre ticket purchases made by phone or internet will be refunded automatically by Ticketmaster. Please allow 28 working days for the money to reappear in your account.
