Biography

Aaron O'Hare, from Northern Ireland, completed his BMus (Hons) degree at the University of Ulster, and went on to complete an MMus and Pg(Dip) at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Paul Nilon and Matthew Best, having been awarded the ABRSM entrance scholarship.

In 2015, Aaron won the Northern Ireland Opera’s annual “Festival of Voice” competition. He joined the Garsington Opera Festival's Alvarez Young Artist's programme for their 2016 season, and was a member of the Opera Holland Park Young Artists in 2018. He was also a recipient of the Arts Council NI and BBC NI’s ‘Young Musician Platform Award.’ This year, Aaron appeared with Opera de Lyon as a member of their Opera Studio.

Previous and recent engagements include: Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte (RNCM), Schuanard in La Boheme (Ulster Orchestra and NI Opera), Dottore Grenvil in La Traviata (Opera Holland Park), Cover Matthew in The second Violinist (Irish National Opera), Cover Count in La Nozze di Figaro (Grange Festival Opera), Mike in John Adam’s I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw the sky (Opera de Lyon).

Later this year, Aaron will be joining the Welsh National Opera as an Associate Artist for their next season.
