Biography

Sinéad Lawlor is a costume supervisor, designer and graduate of London College of Fashion’s BA in Costume for Performance (2008, First). Recent design work includes Warrior (2022) for Karen Egan; Caged (2021) for FemmeBizarre; A Handful of Dreams (2021) Galway International Arts Festival, and House! (2022) for Fidget Feet Aerial Dance; associate designer to Joan O’Clery for Donnacha Dennehy and Enda Walsh’s The First Child (2021) Dublin Theatre Festival, and Gabriel Byrne’s Walking with Ghosts (2022), Landmark and Lovano; assistant costume designer to Joan O’Clery on Kin (2021), AMC and RTÉ. Other work includes Bingo Wings (2019) for Fidget Feet; Coiscéim’s How To Sink A Paper Boat (short, 2019); The Lost Hours (2014) and Criminal Queers (2011) directed by Maurice Kelleher. She is a visiting MFA costume tutor at the Lir Academy and has enjoyed working as a costume supervisor on many Irish National Opera productions including Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle (2018); Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Rossini’s La Cenerentola (2019); Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel (2020) in co-production with Theatre Lovett and the Abbey Theatre; and Strauss’s Elektra and Beethoven’s Fidelio (2021).
